Chistians have this giant stigma attached to them. Even in the Christian world, Christians are thought to be perfect or a Super Holy Roller. The thought is, “You must have a perfect mindset. You must dot your ‘i’s and cross your ‘t’s. Don’t sin, don’t have fun, don’t mess up in any way, shape, or form”. Then things get more twisted from there.
We are all sinners saved by the grace of God. Do you see the sacrifice? God gave His only son. I couldn’t even imagine. And on top of that, Jesus had a choice.
He could have taken the devil’s offer. He knew what was to come. He knew that he was about to die a brutal death. But his relationship with the Lord was so strong that he saw victory on the other side. He looked at all the lost people and had compassion for them. He saw them for who they are not the sins that they carry. And he chose God’s path for you and I. And I’m so glad He did.
See Christianity is not a religion. It’s a relationship with the Trinity. A relationship with God, with Jesus, and with the Holy Spirit.
Christianity is not something you can put into a box. It’s not something you will be condemned for if you mess up.
The bible says to turn from your evil ways but God gives us the grace to overcome while He patiently waits for your full commitment. What does that mean? He wants your heart. He wants an intimate relationship with you.
He wants you to know that He is there through thick and thin. In the valleys and on the high mountains!
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
You are not alone on this journey! Yes, we want to be obedient to the Lord. We want to say that we followed all of His comdments and do go things for His kingdom. Our love for Him makes us want to perform as though we did everything right. But His love for us shows us that we dont have to do everything right.
Your sins are covered. The fact that you have turned from wrong and are trying your best to do what is right brings a smile to God’s face.
You fell down? That’s ok! It’s not when we fall that makes us a failure. Trust me; YOU ARE GOING TO FALL. We fail when we refuse to get back up again and fight through the darkness.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
Your victory is on the other side. And You’ve got Jesus with you. Walk through it with confidence!
