God’s Love For Us

I have an adorable cat. She’s a bit ornery and squirmy but she’s so lovable. One night I just felt the presence of God so strongly and I couldn’t help but want to love on my cuddle cat for a moment.
The thing about cats is that the affection usually has to be on the cat’s term. I brought her close to me and said, “Just sit here for a moment. I just want to love on you”. And then I understood. God was telling me something in that moment. He said, this is how I feel about my children. We are the lovable child that usually only goestl to Him on our terms. But He’s bring us close for a moment.
And all He wants us to sit in His presence so He can shower us with His love.

Open doors

Today I had probably one of the worst days of my life. We all get bad days just as much as good but this day was like the cherry on top of the icing. One thing right after another. And I’m not gonna lie; I lost my patience more than once.

The intensity of warfare was probably at it’s highest today. As I went to lunch I was headed to the stairs right next to the elevator. All of a sudden the elevator doors quickly opened. There was no one in there. And there was no one waiting for the elevator either. It was unusual.

The holy spirit spoke and said open doors are coming. And all through lunch I kept seeing one thing after another about open doors.

Went home and looked up a few scriptures about open doors. The ones below really stood out to me.

Rev 3:7-8 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens. “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name'”.

Acts 14:27 “When they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to report all things that God had done with them and how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles”.

Isa 22:22 “And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David. He shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open“.

2 Chronicals 29:3 “In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lordand repaired them”.

I feel like God is saying today that even though chaos is around us we should get excited because He is about to open doors.

Yesterday, I was all out of wack. It was a rough day. I went home and just prayed. “Lord, I’m not sure what to say. I’m so tired, frustrated, and fed up! I can’t think straight to even begin my declarations! Tell me what to speak. You are bigger than my problems or issues!”

I went to church later that evening. And on my way home a tumbleweed rolled across the road. I thought it was unusual. It’s not 100% unheard of see tumbleweed in this area but it rarely happens. Tumbleweed is more suited for climates even dryer then where I live.

And right then God spoke…He said, “When you get home; I want you to look up tumbleweed. I’ve got something to tell you”.

Tumbleweed is dry, dead and detached from it’s roots so it is easily moved by the wind.

Ephesians 4:14 “So that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes”.

Mark 4:39 “And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm”.

In Psalms 83, Asaph describes enemies that plot against Israel. He names them one by one and requests that God flattens their plans.

13 “Make them like tumbleweed, my God,
like chaff before the wind.
14 As fire consumes the forest
or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your storm.
16 Cover their faces with shame, Lord,
so that they will seek your name.

17 May they ever be ashamed and dismayed;
may they perish in disgrace.
18 Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord—
that you alone are the Most Highover all the earth”.

There have been storms. There have been strong winds. There have been plots against you. Secret meetings planning your downfall. Enemies great and small all conspiring against you.

But God is saying, “Name them and I will take them down. They will know who you serve”.

Tell your enemies what a loving father you have. Tell them how He cares for His children. Praise the name of God almighty!!!

That family member is being saved. That health issue is healed. That financial miracle you need is coming. That loneliness you feel is coming to an end!

The books are being balanced. You are getting back your return plus interest in Jesus name!!!

I thank you God for taking these enemies down in Jesus name. I thank you for fighting for your daughter/son. I thank you for making my enemies like tumbleweed. That their plots dry up. That their plans wither and blow back on them. I thank you Jesus that you are returning the things the devil stole plus extra.

I thank you Lord for this word. In Jesus name Amen!

Oogie Boogie

I had the weirdest dream in a long while. I was at a party seemed to be at my house but it was an unfamiliar house. And I was trying to avoid someone. Like I didn’t want to talk to them for something they did. So I walked outside and all of a sudden this wind brings in a tornado. It looked bad. But I started praying and I knew God would stop it. I lifted my hands in praise. And the tornado stopped right in front of my house. And it dropped a tree. And not a small tree either. It dropped a big one. Then randomly Oogie Boogie from the nightmare before Christmas showed up and he was trying to make deals with me but I wouldn’t take them. I went back in the house and talked to the person I was avoiding and everything seemed to be fine after that.

The tornado is the chaos and confusion surrounding us. The fallen tree means our faith is being attacked. (Matt 17:20) Faith that grew strong and rooted is now is on the ground rooted up. Oogie Boogie is a representation of the devil and his tricks. Oogie is shown to be a talented performer and a fondness for glamour and theatrics. Oogie is a trickster that loves to gamble and cheat. And he uses his abilities to bring fear. Oogie Boogie rolls dice and often gets a pair of snake eyes. He loses all his bets. He rarely leaves his fortress, preferring to send his henchmen (The devil and his demons). With that being said Oogie is only as good as his tricks and luck in gambling. And so is the devil. The fear and confusing being brought up is only a distraction. The devil might have a good poker face but he doesn’t have a good hand. We have to stand on our faith and realise that what we have in our hand is much greater. In the dream when I walked back into the house and talked to the person I was avoiding everything was fine.

When we walk back into God’s house and talk to Him, He will assure us that the hand we have been given is much greater then that of the devil. His poker face doesn’t stand a chance.

Heart of Worship

This may (or may not) come as a surprise to you but there are many ways to worship God.

Worship is just praise, an act or an obedience towards God.

So when we tithee we worship. If God puts it in our heart to speak encouraging words to another. That’s an act of worship.

Our entire life can be an act of worship by the way we live our daily lives.

The most common form or worship that many think of is singing and raising or clapping hands before the service starts. Many are confused because they think they have to perform or act in a certain way while worshipping but this is not the case.

The most important thing bout worship is where your heart is when you are worshipping. ‘Heart of Worship’ by Michael W. Smith is a beautiful song that really shows where our heart should be.

I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus

I had one of our youth kids make a statement one time. He was worried about not putting his hands up at the right time. Another kid told me they didn’t like going to church because they didn’t like putting their hands up at all. There are many people so worried about how they look during worship that they never enter into the peacefulness of God’s presence.

Let me tell you something…. God does not look down on you for how you worship. The point of worship is praising God. It’s having a relationship with Jesus.

If you had a friend come up to you and say, “We can’t be friends unless you wear only the color pink”, you would think they were nuts. And you’d probably wouldn’t think twice about dropping that friendship. Why would you want to be friends with someone that is putting conditions on the friendship? You wouldn’t.

So why do we think that God puts conditions on spending time with Him?All He is looking for is someone that has the heart to be there in His presence.

If you had a friend that didn’t want to be in your company eventually you’d stop hanging out with them. You can look at it in the same aspect. God wants to hang around those that want to be in His company.

God wants to hear that He is the creator of all things. He wants to hear you sing His praises. He knows the things that He does for you. But He also wants to hear it from our mouths that we believe He is great and just.

I will tell you something about my personal worship. I don’t usually raise my hands. Most people think it is a must because you are showing surrender. And that is true. But if you are uncomfortable, where does your heart and mind go to during worship? Your heart and mind go straight to how uncomfortable you are.

I don’t raise my hands simply because my arms get tired and I like to sway or move alot and if my hands are up I lose my balance and fall.

So if my hands are up, I’m only thinking about how tired my arms are and hoping I don’t fall. In reality, I should be thinking things like: “How great you are Jesus. Thank you for blessing me. This past week was tough but you got me through it and I know you will get me through the next one”.

My personal posture of worship is looking up, singing and swaying. That’s how I personally enter into God’s peaceful presence. That may not work for you. Every person is different. And God likes it that way. He likes everyone to be unique and different. So if that doesn’t work for you, that’s ok. Find what does.

Just remember that it’s not where your hands are but where your heart is.

Ok so a little edumacation if y’all didn’t already know this…Horoscopes are a form of divination. Divination is foretelling the future without the holy spirit (or God’s spirit). Foretelling the future(or present/past) with the holy spirit is called prophecy. Anything not of God is not good.

These things such as Horoscopes, palm reading, and tarot card reading are things that CAN tell of the future but are NOT of God. They are demonic. Get rid of them.

Also be weary of fake prophets. Just because someone says they are a prophet does not make them one. What makes a person a true prophet is their relationship with God.

This does not mean to go out and uncover every wolf in sheep’s clothing. This means to decern and make good judgements and to steer clear (or not follow the teachings) of those that don’t have a real relationship with God.

▪️something that causes a person to be hurt, angry, or upset
▪️something that is wrong or improper
▪️a criminal act

Spirit of Offense: (Not to be confused with offense). This is a perception of an act that was not intended to cause offense. Someone that is always easily offended by the actions of others with no regard at looking within.

Crossing the Jordan

I had a weird dream that I got into a relationship with someone at work. I don’t have feelings for this person but i think it may be more about this person’s name then the person. Their name is Jordan.

I have been hearing alot about crossing over and being in the promised land. As well as, God is giving out gifts of the spirit right now. So I looked the name.

Jordan: to descend or flow down on something or someone. The Jordan river flows downward into the dead sea.

In the dream Jordan left his current girlfriend to pursue a relationship with me and we were really happy. It flowed well.

It sounds like God is saying that gifts others put walked away from are now being released to His people.

Their also was a part in the dream where this cup on my desk was missing. Someone threw it away.

Isaiah 51:22

This is what your Sovereign Lord says,
your God, who defends his people:
“See, I have taken out of your hand
the cup that made you stagger;
from that cup, the goblet of my wrath,
you will never drink again”.

Here in this context; I feel like God is saying to those who went through tremdous pruning, testing and went through the wilderness He has lifted that season off and blessing has come upon His people.

The Father’s Love

I am a youth leader at my church. I love our kids. But many of them come from broken homes or divorced families. It breaks my heart how this effects our kids. I know all too well because I came from one of those families. We have kids that their self-esteem is torn. Parents don’t take the time to listen to the needs of their own children. They just walk life never thinking about how their actions take affect. And it’s why many if them act out. We see this in society today. I became a youth leader to help our kids have someone they could talk to because I never had that.

I say all of that to set the stage. And I think it’s important talk about these things. Especially to the generation that wasnt raised to understand God’s nature. How could they? It’s hard for them to understand how family dynamics should be because they never had an example.

I am reading a book written by Jennifer LeClaire and something really stood out to me.

God is not looking for opportunities to judge and condemn people. He is

looking for opportunities to love and
bless people.

The book goes on about how God is like a father. So true! Much like a father, God is not looking to punish His children when they mess up. He’d rather reward you when you get something right.

Now that is not to say that God doesn’t send us correction. He gives us chances to turn from the wrong path but if we continue on the wrong path then you could say He grounds us.

God’s heart desires to bless His children. Fathers don’t want to tell their kids over and over not to do something. They would rather celebrate their children when they get something right and comfort them in their time of need.

The Father’s love for you is greater then you could even imagine. You are His adoptive child. You are family to Him.

  • Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us…. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his children. – Ephesians 1:3-5

  • I will be a Father to you and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. – 2 Corinthians 6:18 & 2 Samuel 7:14
  • The Father guarded him as the apple of his eye. – Deuteronomy 32:10
  • How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God! – 1 John 3:1

  • And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor (or Comforter) to be with you forever – the Spirit of Truth. – John 14:16
  • A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing. – Psalm 68:5-6
  • O Lord you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are the work of your hands. – Isaiah 64:8

  • Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. – Matthew 6:4

I Walked Through the Valley

Chistians have this giant stigma attached to them. Even in the Christian world, Christians are thought to be perfect or a Super Holy Roller. The thought is, “You must have a perfect mindset. You must dot your ‘i’s and cross your ‘t’s. Don’t sin, don’t have fun, don’t mess up in any way, shape, or form”. Then things get more twisted from there.

We are all sinners saved by the grace of God. Do you see the sacrifice? God gave His only son. I couldn’t even imagine. And on top of that, Jesus had a choice.

Matthew 4:8-10

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’

He could have taken the devil’s offer. He knew what was to come. He knew that he was about to die a brutal death. But his relationship with the Lord was so strong that he saw victory on the other side. He looked at all the lost people and had compassion for them. He saw them for who they are not the sins that they carry. And he chose God’s path for you and I. And I’m so glad He did.

See Christianity is not a religion. It’s a relationship with the Trinity. A relationship with God, with Jesus, and with the Holy Spirit.

Christianity is not something you can put into a box. It’s not something you will be condemned for if you mess up.

The bible says to turn from your evil ways but God gives us the grace to overcome while He patiently waits for your full commitment. What does that mean? He wants your heart. He wants an intimate relationship with you.

He wants you to know that He is there through thick and thin. In the valleys and on the high mountains!

John 16:33

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

You are not alone on this journey! Yes, we want to be obedient to the Lord. We want to say that we followed all of His comdments and do go things for His kingdom. Our love for Him makes us want to perform as though we did everything right. But His love for us shows us that we dont have to do everything right.

Your sins are covered. The fact that you have turned from wrong and are trying your best to do what is right brings a smile to God’s face.

You fell down? That’s ok! It’s not when we fall that makes us a failure. Trust me; YOU ARE GOING TO FALL. We fail when we refuse to get back up again and fight through the darkness.

Psalm 23:4
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

Your victory is on the other side. And You’ve got Jesus with you. Walk through it with confidence!
